Aspect Group Services, through its Aspecte (Renewable Energy) division, was appointed to deliver a comprehensive electric vehicle (EV) charging solution at Debenham High School to support the school’s transition towards sustainable transport and future-ready infrastructure. The project formed part of a wide initiative to provide accessible EV charging for both staff and public users, incorporating smart technology and revenue-generation capability.
The works comprised the supply, installation, commissioning and certification of a dual-function EV charging system, designed to deliver both fast AC charging and rapid DC charging from a single integrated solution.
The installation included:
- 1 x 22kW Dual Socket AC Wall-Mounted Commercial EV Charger – allowing simultaneous charging of two vehicles
- 1 x 30kW Single Fast DC Wall-Mounted Public Charger – providing rapid charging capability for shorter stays
- 1 x 3-Phase Commercial Dynamic Load Balancer Kit – ensuring efficient power distribution and preventing overload of the existing electrical infrastructure
- Contactless Payment Device with Wall-Mounted IP Enclosure – enabling secure and user-friendly public access to charging facilities
These works were supported by a full electrical installation package, including infrastructure upgrades, connection to the existing supply, testing, commissioning and certification in line with current industry standards.
In addition, ongoing annual monitoring and management services are provided by Hydra, ensuring optimal charger performance, remote diagnostics and long-term operational reliability.
Aspect worked collaboratively with Hydra EV and the school to programme works around operational requirements, minimising disruption to staff and students.
The successful delivery of this project has provided Debenham High School with a modern, reliable and fully compliant EV charging solution.
