Dan Bradfield – Private EV Customer
Aspect were very helpful in helping me understand the different options of EV charger available to me, best suited to my vehicle. After an initial site visit, I was booked in nice and quickly for an installation with one of their own knowledgeable engineers. The installation was well organised and quick, Aspect were prompt and professional and I’m very pleased with the end result. My car now charges in under half the time and I have the scope to feed Solar energy to the device in the future. Overall a friendly and professional service.”
Guide to Electric Home Charger installations
How do I know if I can get a home care charging point installed?
To get a home charging point installed for your electric car, you need the following:
- Dedicated off-street parking,
- A Wi-Fi connection at your property or a SIM router with a 3G or 4G SIM
- Permission from your landlord (if you’re renting)
A home installation typically includes:
- Fit your home charger to a brick or plaster wall or other suitable permanent structure.
- Cable neatly clipped to the wall, running between your electricity supply meter, main distribution board, and home charger.
- An electrical certificate to show your installation meets the UK wiring regulations standard.
OZEV grants for homeowners expire on March 31 2022. From April 1, 2022, homeowners will no longer be eligible for the OZEV grant.
The new criteria will enable landlords, apartment owners, and social housing providers to apply for EVHS grants.
EV Maintenance Services
EV charging points in daily use should be inspected and maintained annually to ensure safe and efficient charging all year round.
Aspecte also offer inspection and maintenance services to our EV Installation customers. In the unlikely event that your charger fails, you can rest assured that we will be on hand to diagnose and fix any issues that may arise.
Integrating Solar PV and battery storage with electric vehicle charge points
Driving an electric car charged by your solar panels and battery storage is an excellent way to ensure your transportation is even more cost-efficient and emissions-free.
Many EV owners purchase a solar panel and battery system as a way of pre-buying their fuel for years to come, and with the upfront cost quickly paying off.
With rising energy prices and ever-increasing costs of public charging points, it makes perfect sense to charge your vehicle at home for free.
